Pink Floyd(핑크 플로이드) - Brain Damage

20세기는 어떤 시대였나.

2차, 3차혁명으로 생산성이 급격히 올라

경제가 급성장했고

또한 기술의 발전으로 

질병을 예방하고 삶의 질이 놀라울 정도로 향상된 시대이다.

반면

두 번의 세계대전, 한국전쟁, 베트남전쟁 등 수 차례의 살생과

경제대공황 등

인간의 탐욕과 이기심이 낱낱이 드러난 시대이기도 하다.

찰스 디킨스의 '두 도시 이야기'에 나오는 그 유명한 서문은 그 당대에도, 20세기에도

그리고 오늘 날까지 동일하게 적용된다.

그러나 인간이기에,

눈앞의 성공에만 어두워 보지못한 현실을 직시하고 반성할 수 있다.

달의 뒷면(Dark Side of the Moon)을 감히 볼 용기를 인간만이 가지고 있다.

위대한 개츠비의 마지막 구절처럼,

휩쓸리더라도 계속 앞으로 나아갈 수 있는것이다.
